"Jump (For My Love)", The Pointer Sisters, 1985

Fun fact:  the original title was just "Jump", but the title was changed to avoid confusion with another song title "Jump" released earlier in the same year.  The Pointer Sisters otherwise would never be confused with the Van Halen brothers.  As there are no great songs about "Leaping", here it is, your Leap Day Song.

Here is the new (illegally downloaded) episode of Absolutely Fabulous which you should watch now as it will probably be taken promptly.

Not to give anything away, but the best line in the episode is about New York gays.  

On a deeper note, it's a shame that Logo, a co-producer of the new episodes couldn't have found a way to debut this in the states at the same time as BBC's airing in England.  It's a global media world now and by the time this airs in the states, their "desirable audience" will have already caught the episodes on the web.

Thinking of our friend Xavier's My Favorite Things brought thoughts about this old footage of The Supreme's from long ago.  The song is pure classic and those pink flowing gowns are pure eleganza.

Local troubadour Xavier had a very busy 2011.  From recording with The New Power Generation (of Prince fame) to playing Jesus on the stage he's had his fingers in quite a few pies.  Now he're released "Baltimore" as directed by Marc Baptiste and styled by David Tabbert, it's a lovely soulful remembrance.  (And for those of you only listening to holiday music, check out Xavier's version of Charlie Brown's Christmas Time is Here.

If you've not heard, Norway is out of butter. The cause seems to be a cross between increased feed prices lowering milk production and a popular low-carb, high-fat weight-loss diet. (No, I'm not kidding!) Granted, I'm not well-versed on the Norwegian butter shortage, but I am well versed in angry boi. Thus comes Tommy from Norway that does not appreciate Americans thinking his country's butter shortage is hilarious. Maybe somebody could teach him to make his own butter out of heavy cream. It's, well, rather easy.
