Going out tonight?

For those of you going out for more tonight on this extended holiday weekend, we salute you. There are lots of things to do, but maybe a trip to Westside Tavern for the Third Annual New Year's Day Potluck and DeeJay Showcase would be in order? And since you're in the neighborhood, stop into The Eagle as all you survivors can enjoy the beer blastings of Mister Paul Ferrer. Then skip (literally as it's good skipping weather out) down to Vandam for basemental shenanigans with Mister Michael Magnon. And do head upstairs to see what Susanne Barsch is wearing (since you can't always ready her amazing fashion diary in the Times every week). Or just go all the way east to Nowhere where the long running Beetlejuice carries tonight.

But seriously, Happy New Year. Let's get to the gym.

This weekend...

 

Tonight (Thursday):

It's  a booty-fest at Headz Will Roll tonight after last week's crazed late-night Spank Rock appearance. I can personally attest: the crowd is pleasing! Ladyfag and Roxy Cottontail host while Jason plays pa-pa-pa-paparazzi(1opm, Bar 13)

After last week's premier during Urban Bear Weekend, Behr, the paint themed(?) bear party from Robert Valin, holes up in the basement at Elevate for week two. (10pm)

Tomorrow night (Friday):

The Bunker is a Friday night party at Public Assembly that's held in high esteem among clubbers/dancers/DJs already. This Friday, they inaugurate a quarterly residency series where they'll host the residents of Berghain and Panorama Bar, two Berlin clubs (who just happen to be under the same roof) that - according to general consensus - throw some of the best parties, playing the best music, in the world right now.  (10Pm)

The kids who put on Unisexi love a theme (as do I!) and this week's is Batty Bwoy with Michael Magnan and DJ Will Automagic joining residents Jools Palmer and Sugartitz behind the decks, and a special performance by Jamaican-born Lawrence Graham Brown.  Bring your best Dancehall/Dutty Wine moves and your best ass! (10pm, Le Royale)

Bi-weekly, bi-curious (?) but not bi-polar, Snaxx is back and waiting for you in the dark. (10pm, Westside Tavern)

Tonight: 

Mr. Mark DeMaio is a painter friend and is showing his paintings at ViG 27, where Corey TuT will play a set for our entertainment.  (8pm)

Unitard returns to NYC at Comix for a one night only encore. (8pm)

Lady and Roxy Cottontail are making heads roll at Bar 13 (the just-announced "secret" Spank Rock performance will really kill!)! (10pm)

Andy the Barber is heading to P-Town for the season so Code at the Eagle is hosting a Barber Blitz as a send-off. (10pm)

Bubby's

A recent weeknight saw a small group of us leaving the 92Y/Tribeca around 10:30, and a few in our party hungering for some late-night sweets. I remembered Bubby's - just down Hudson from where we were - billed itself as a House of Pies sort of place and suggested we head there. Calling to verify they were open informed me they are now open 24 hours every day aside from Monday! Maybe that's always been the case, but back ten (!?) or so years ago when I had last been there, I usually only made it for Brunch, so had no reason to know they were open all hours.
