Yes. That IS a Labryinth t-shirt!
What are you going to be (I still haven't a clue, but it's not likely to be either Luke Perry or David Bowie in Labyrinth.)?
Ancient Celts believed the membrane separating this world and the underworld, or afterlife, became thin and was breached by various spirits on All Hallow's Eve (they traditionally called it Samhain, I believe?). See, Samhain is believed to have marked summer's end (the word derives from the phrase for that in Old Irish, supposedly.), and the border between the "light" part of the year and the "dark" part may have seemed related to a thinning of this barrier between worlds. The spirits who came through could be harmless, but were also potentially harmful. Costumes were worn both as a means to confuse the harmful spirits and - by young men - to symbolize the spirits of family who had crossed over, that viewers might remember those who had passed and respect their memory.
So...what are you going to wear?
Regardless, here's what you might want to do:
FRIDAY (Tonight):
Ladyfag's new Clubber Down Disco returns for its second night with Honey Dijon DJing and Tai Chi, One-Half Nelson and Casey Spooner hosting. Ryan Smith at the door, whore! Word to the wise? Arrive on the early side. There's more than one reward (i.e. - entrance) awaiting you if you do.
Similarly, Mr. Rich King and Mr. Gustavo Motta offer incentive to arrive to their Snaxx shindig early. They'll be wigging out (as you should be!) but the beer will be free (from 10pm - 11pm)! Also popcorn, peanuts and a surprise!
Uptown at mine and Tai's (well, EVERYone's) old haunt - Rebel - Peter Rauhofer and the WORK! crew (DJs Corey Craig & Nita Aviance spin upstairs and Ms. Roze BLACK is BACK hosting the party!) throw a night of Hallo-weenie craziness.
Bana is back, but they've been kicked out of their Downtown Fulton Street baths location at the last minute so are moving the VIP portion of the party out to Brooklyn to the site of the original banya party several years ago that kicked the whole shebang off. The baths there are SITTing, is all I'll say. Oh and transportation is provided (via go-go equipped...or equipped go-go? party bus.) from 15th and 8th Avenue (in front of Starbucks) three times: 11pm, 12am, and 1am with two return trips at 3am and 4am. I think you may have to already have a ticket to ride the bus, so hit up the website for full information and the ticket purchase link.
There's (what seems like) a thousand other options, as well. Find the FYF Calendar for those.

(Everyone's doing a "Hot World Cup Players" thing, and who are we to buck a trend? Best - to us - so far? Best Week Ever's round-up of "...Hot World Cup Players getting Balls to the Face". HuffPo tried to do one, but need to change their prescription...those are the ugliest photos of some of the ugliest players I've seen. My fave - this second - Benny Feilhaber of the USA. Here crooning Jordin Sparks' "No Air" shirtless.)
FRIDAY (Tonight!) -
Ryan Smith and Ron Like Hell's hella fun/cute/easy (I can attest! I was there!) Soffitta70 (I still haven't gotten the full story on the name) is back this Friday and every second Friday from now on. (10pm, Upstairs from Public Assembly)
Another bi-weekly party, Sugardaddy, hosts Unisexi for one night only. (10pm, Rush) Support my "Send Duane to Spain!" campaign June 25th when I'm the guest Sugar for one night only (yes, I'm breaking my retirement. Just like Cher.), along with special guests DJs the Soffitta boys and special mangler (or just special) Jason The Black TeenWolf. He'll be operating a kissing booth or something? Sugarcoated indeed!
Denim Shorts is an invitation to sand your jeans and wear your best clone look (the one on the event page is hard to beat!) to drink cheap beer and hear A. Martini spin rock and roll, glam and punk. (10pm, The Phoenix)
Mr. Mickey and Drew Elliott host Fridays at the Salon with Dangerous Muse and other cute DJs playing cute tunes. How do I know it's cute? Because THAT is just what Mr. Mickey and Drew do. (10pm, Tribeca Grand - Salon)

So...if you haven't been keeping up on Facebook/wherever...there's a (VIRULENT!) rumor that Ms. Minogue will make an appearance at the F Word's reactivation at Splash tonight. Personally? It all sounds too much like a PR wet dream, but I look forward to receiving first hand reports/twits/stat updates! Question though...why do these pop princesses ONLY show up at Splash?! Used to be the Roxy was the spot, now it's Splash?! What's the common element here, gayleuths? Give us the tea!
Pyromaniacs, hose lovers and hotties at Pyrophilia in deepest Greenpoint tonight. The venue is t.b.d Bar and sounds super cute! Part of an ongoing series from The Blood Dumpster. Sounds very Dexter!
Also in the wilds of Brooklyn (Deepest Bushwick to be exact), Mark Louque and Miss Pappas bring you XOO at Tandem Bar with special guest Michael Magnan. Crunchy, crusty fun!
On the opposite side of town and with (perhaps?) a little less edge/crunch, but as much soul/steeping (makes a good tea!), Snaxx at Westside Tavern (Back of the bar, down the stairs...DANCE!) is earthside on its bi-weekly transit.
Just up 8th Avenue, who knew Upright Citizens' Brigade was up so late!? Funny folkster Ben Lerman performs with t h i n s k i n j o n n y. Funny songs is what you'll hear. Funny ha ha. 11:30pm is showtime!

Something called "The Men Event" is partnered with Next Magazine to host a networking (I think?) event and charity bachelor auction at Dave and Buster's near Times Square tomorrow night. No jokes about the bachelors bombing, please.
One of the bachelors is from Cheer New York and my boy Felipe is getting the word out about this event. It sounds uber-gay, so get there and support, homos! Nothing better then cuteness for a cause! (Dave & Buster's, 6pm)
Speaking of cute, Justin Russo's latest installment of his solo show, "Temptation of the Absolute Mask" kicks off tonight and goes through June 7th. The show is an exhibition of his work depicting iconic beauties of Hollywood's yesteryear such as Hedy Lamarr, Jean Harlow, Ava Gardner and Rita Hayworth via three-dimensional masks. (Market Cafe, 7pm)
Pretty much everything this evening falls within the "cute" category, actually. Not straying from the theme: Josh Sparber and Garrett Magee celebrate their birthdays simultaneously with DJs Michael Magnan, Nita and Will spinning and Ladyfag giving Natalie Merchant (?)...or something about 10,000 maniacal gays. The party's called "The Whole Mishpacha" which, despite Mr. Winick's helpful reference for understanding yiddish, I don't understand. I don't care though, because it'll be hella fun, no doubt. (Los Feliz, 9pm)
Finally...but also hella fun...Erik Karff kicks off a new night at the Phoenix called Bitchin' Flow where he'll play old skool hip-hop, underground and street jamz. (Phoenix Bar, 10pm)
