Once a week, we like to look at traffic, just to see how we're doing. A key activity is to see from where our traffic is coming. Most comes from folks coming directly to the site (for which we're super-grateful). Some comes from Twitter and Facebook. More comes from google searches for things like "manroulette", "grindr blackberry", and "ghost writer house". Then comes the traffic from other websites.
Recently, a few links came in from "christwire.org" on a rather random story. The text used on Christwire linking the story to our site was: Even homosexual activists are trying to “sashay” in on the topic. This, well, annoyed me. We're not very "activist" and neither of us "sashay"'s. Or at least I don't.
As one does, I researched the post's author. Nothing much out there, until I checked Facebook. Following is the messages exchanged thereafter:
Suddenly, the self-righteousness seemed outrageous enough to actually be real. In my mind I was convinced that Stephenson Billings was a loony Christian. With that determination, I chose not to further engage. The key thing in dealing with delusional people for me is to let them stick to their delusions. (Despite this, I did mention one of their bits in one of the morning news bits last week.)
