Just as there's a lot going on at the Vatican these days (Ok. So pretty much everything in this post - title included - can be read at LEAST two ways?!), there's a lot going on this weekend. Check out tonight's highly-edited rundown here (Walt's opening! Sugar Daddy!).
- Tomorrow, things kick off bawdily (bodily?) at "The Ultimate Burlesque Showdown" The Burning Bush vs. The Second Coming where the Easter vs. Passover score is settled once and for all? Le Poisson Rouge at 8pm (Doors at 7pm).
- Television and Film career hustlers are invited to meet for drinks and to net-WERK! (or is it "Network"?) as part of this month's Pink Mafia event at Barrage (location changes every month)...and...Happy Birthday, Makario! Barrage from 8 to 10pm.
- This looks cute and that's really all I know about it: that it looks cute, but how cute does it look?! Brooklyn kids Douglas Calhoun (Queerespondence/Brooklyntheborough.com) and Lauren Gulbrandsen (Babes in Toyland) host "Whip It Out", with gentle giant DJ Ron Like Hell (a personal favorite!) and performances and porn giveaways (Hell, Lauren's from Babes in Toyland for God's sake!) and picture taking and coming-out story celebrating and just a crazy, mashed-up gay Brooklyn fun time from the sounds of it! Pictured is Douglas in his "school portrait" from last month's party.
- Family Function reunites Ladyfag and Michael Magnan after a cruel Thursday night separation (We hit both their Thursday night parties and lived to tell the story...later. Speaking of Thursday night, we hear we missed Marc Jacobs and his handsome husband at Fox over at The Park last night. Ah well.). The (f'ed up) Family will be celebrating Paul Cupo (Happy Birthday, Paul!) and William Graper's birthdays.
- Crisis on Eighth Avenue hits the two-week mark tonight with a P-Town reunion of sorts upstairs in the Panic Room as DJs Mark Louque, Ryan Smith and Sean B. share the bill with late-night finisher and resident Rich King. Downstairs, it's very rock-n-roll, gla-mour style with legends Jo Jo Americo and DJ Adam joining resident Michael T. This Crisis is giving you Easter realness with "Peeps" shows all night, a Playgirl Bunny, Plushie Schwartz and a late performance from The Wau Wau Sisters.
- Finally, Double-Headed Disco gives you back-to-back realness with Second Coming, a special Easter eve edition of DHD. Jeff Jackson and Pete Money (the originating DJ duo of DHD) spin this one, following last Saturday's DHD madness with resident DJs Disco Connie and JJ.
Sunday? You'll have to wake me from the dead!
