The Ghost Writer stars a house on the island of Sylt in Germany that leads a double life as a house on the dunes of an island off of Cape Cod. Several clever people try to convince The House that it is not in Germany, some more convincingly than others. The House is very modern rustic, constructed of much wood and stone, but has the very modern touch of having green screens in the place of windows where beach scenes are projected onto walls.
The story starts as Obi-Wan Kenobi is recruited by Samantha Jones to help Remington Steele write his memoirs. This is not as easy as it seems as Steele and his wife, Dr. Moira MacTaggart, are keeping secrets from Kenobi and from the house! The House is shown several things to further convince it of its Massachusetts location. Wind and rain and blowing dune-grass and rugged 'locals' in 'Cape Cod' polo shirts and cars with Massachusetts "Spirit of America!" license plates are presented in and around The House. Eventually The House is distracted by Remington and Moira's big secret which has now ensnared the Narrator of Teenage Suicide: Don't Try It and Jim, According to.
About an hour into the movie The House figures out the plot secret, or at least the audience does. Also The House discovers that the film's director, Rosemary's BabyDaddy didn't really choose The House, but had to settle for it (and the hodgepodge of actors) because they were the only ones that were cool with him sexraping a teen girl in the previous millennium in another house, owned by Marvin Jenkins from Mayberry, USA.
(Coming soon: American Airlines stars in a film about heterosexuals that act like homosexuals!)
